Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965 is an American actress. She is also a producer and director. She is best known for her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was honored with the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The series ended following its seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline Wuntch in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was an educator and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian who was with English descent. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish and has said that she participates at Passover seders.
